PRESS RELEASE

The submission of applications for the second cycle of the EPANEK "e-liviko" action starts on 9 July 2021.

With the aim of providing grants to more SMEs for the creation or upgrade of their e-shop, the submission of applications for the second cycle of the EPANEK "e-retail" action starts on 9 July 2021.

Following the first cycle of the Action, during which 11,500 applications were submitted and 7,162 have already been approved with a total public expenditure of 33.6 million euros, the Ministry of Development and Investment proceeded on Friday 25/6/2021 to the announcement of the second cycle.

Applications are submitted online from 9 July 2021 to 29 September 2021 and are addressed to those businesses that did not participate in the first cycle of the Action.

The aim is to support the operation of SMEs during the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), enhancing their digital transformation and ensuring the continuity of their economic activity.

The budget of the second cycle amounts to €8 million and subsidies of up to €5,000 are granted to each company for the acquisition of IT equipment and the implementation of intangible actions (software/services) for the development and management of their e-shop.

If the business already had an online store before 18/3/2020, intangible costs up to 1,500 euros for its upgrade are subsidised.

The Action is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) of the European Union and national resources.

Beneficiaries of the Action are medium, small and micro businesses operating in the retail sector (main or highest revenue generating ID), with a physical store and whose operation has been suspended for at least one day from Wednesday 18 March 2020 onwards.

Enterprises are divided into existing enterprises, if they have been established until 30/09/2019 and newly established enterprises if they have been established after that date.
For funding under this Action, an application must be submitted electronically to the State Aid Information System (www.ependyseis.gr/mis).

In addition, the Institute of Information and Communication Technologies of the National Centre for Research and Technological Development (EKETA/IPTIL), through its digital platform OPENSHOPS.GR (www.openshops.gr), offers to the beneficiaries of the "e-lianniko" action free of charge:
- general information on the action
- support for submitting the application to participate in the action
- advice and support on administrative/formal issues related to the implementation of the e-retail action, as well as on technical issues related to the proper design, implementation and effective operation of their e-shop.

Through a special tool, which will be posted on the digital platform of www.openshops.gr, beneficiaries of the Action, from Friday 09/07/2021, will be able to conduct an indicative check of the compliance of their e-shop with the proposed specifications and recommendations.
